The reasons for putting a child up for adoption are varied, but for the most part, adoption occurs when a woman has given birth to a child that she is unable to provide for, whether it be financially, emotionally or both. The woman is generally unmarried to the father of the child and may or may not have his support in making this decision. It is a time fraught with emotional uncertainties and the only real comfort to be had is in the knowledge that the child will be placed in the care of a loving couple who will raise it as their own and give it a better life than the birth mother would be able to at this point in time.

Adoption laws, although needed to protect the legal aspects of the adoption process, fall short in providing for the long-term needs of the birth mother and child. It is our goal here to provide a way for them to be reunited and given the opportunity to re-establish their relationship.
